The year was just beginning when Jessica Jolia and Yaahn Hunter, Jr. warmed us up with the funky and jazzy remix to their cut “Mink Coat” that featured an assist from Kevin Ross. That one ended up being on our soundtrack for most of the year, with it setting off many a playlist just right. Now the duo is back at making sweet music together with their new cut “More.”

The song builds on a looped piano and vocal sample that’s embellished with guitar and a solid bass line paired with drums designed to keep your head nodding. It all comes together to create an easygoing sound that belies the song’s more serious subject matter.
That subject matter is brought to the fore by Jessica Jolia, who illustrates the good and bad of wanting more out of life. Her honeyed vocal rides the song’s groove as she paints a picture of the good life and its flipside while commenting on the desire for something more than life’s material trappings…
